California safety requirements for organizations employers

There have been several new requirements put in place to keep California employees healthy and safe in the workplace. It can be tricky to know everything that your organization needs in order to have preventative measures in place and be compliant with local, state, and federal guidelines. That’s where our safety experts come in!

Cal/OSHA required the implementation of a customized Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) including company-wide training for ALL employees to be completed by July 1, 2024. Does your company need assistance to be in compliance?

Almost All California Employers Must Have:

  1. An Illness and Injury Prevention Program
  2. A Covid Prevention Plan (at least through February 2025)
  3. A Workplace Violence Prevention Plan plus training

 

Some California employers will also be required to have:

  1. An Outdoor Heat Illness Prevention Plan
  2. And/or an Indoor Heat Illness Prevention Plan

Heat Illness Prevention Plans (HIPP) Are Required For Some Businesses!

A new Heat Illness Prevention in Indoor Places of Employment standard has passed effective July 23, 2024.

Like the general and required Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP) and Outdoor HIPP, the Indoor Heat Illness Prevention Plan (IHIPP) must be a written plan, have a training component that includes active participation, and requires extensive recordkeeping.
