HR Guidance and Partnership With a Multi-State Restaurant Management Group During Phase of Growth and Acquisition

The Challenge

As a restaurant operator in airports across the country, Tastes on the Fly faced unique challenges in 2021 as restaurants reopened and travel bans were lifted. With dozens of restaurants in San Francisco, Denver, New York, and Boston, and plans to launch a new location in Vancouver, they needed to restructure and build an HR team to support rapid restaffing, business expansion, and all of the challenges that Covid brought to the workplace.

The Solution

NLS was a strategic partner to the leadership team in creating and implementing a plan for the HR function.  While providing day-to-day support and navigating issues related to COVID regulations, mandatory vaccinations, labor union matters, and expansion into Canada, NLS recruited talented HR professionals to fit Tastes on the Fly’s unique needs in each airport.

The Result

NLS and Tastes on the Fly worked together to build a solid HR team that supported the growth of the company and led to remarkable post-Covid success. After wrapping up consulting in 2022, NLS was asked to return in 2023 to help the company prepare to be acquired.  NLS once again provided the HR expertise needed for Tastes on the Fly’s HR team to successfully support the company’s business objectives and continued to advise through the acquisition and integration period.
